The 23-year-old singer Avril Lavigne was
diagnosed with acute laryngitis two months ago while she was on her tour which
was supposed to last five months.
“I have been sick this whole tour,” Lavigne
said, according to BBC News.
Only a couple of days have passed since the
Canadian singer has canceled two dates of the tour, one in San Diego and the
other one in Phoenix.
Now she announces that six more shows, in California and Washington,
have been called off. To be more specific, the shows are in Anaheim,
Universal City,
Santa Barbara, San Jose,
Calif., Spokane
and Everett, Wash.
The singer said that she tried resting her
voice, but it still didn’t get better.
“Even though I have been resting my voice
for days, when I tried to sing nothing came out,” she said referring to a sound
check at a show in Anaheim,
California.
Lavigne apologized to her fans and said
that this was her first time ever to cancel a show.
“My sincerest apologies to all of my fans. My
intention was to complete the rest of the tour but tonight at sound check in Anaheim I realized this
wasn't possible. I have never cancelled a show in my whole career and just had
to for the first time ever. This sux!” she wrote on her website.
The fans can get their money back starting
Monday.
