Hulk Hogan’s Son Arrested for Injuring his Best Friend in Car Crash

Hulk Hogan’s son. Nick Bollea is due to stay in jail for the next eight months as ordered Friday. The wrestling superstar’s son pleaded guilty to the crash that seriously injured his best friend, John Garziano, who will now face medical treatment for life. The 17-year-old teenager took the news pretty good. According to the Associated Press, he cast a quick backward glance at his family just before his tie and belt were removed  and he was taken to the jail next door.

On Nov. 7 Nick was arrested on reckless-driving charges after a car crash. Clearwater police said Bollea crashed his 1998 Toyota Supra on Aug. 26 while he was street racing against a silver Dodge Viper driven by a friend. His blood alcohol level was over 0.02 percent and he was driving 69 miles per hour on a busy road. Besides the 8 months in jail the teen will face 5 years probation, DUI classes and he won’t be able to drink until the end of his probation period.

Garziano’s family asked the judge to sentence Bollea to one year in jail saying that they’re not seeking revenge, but only justice. Further more the family accuses Nick’s family of their son’s behavior. "Speeding to Nick was a badge of honor," Graziano's mother, Debbie, said during the hearing. "I'm not seeking revenge, only justice."

Garziano, a former Marine who served in Iraq was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. He made friends with Nick as they were sharing the same passion: cars. In court, Bollea apologized to the Grazianos, turning his back to the judge and addressing the family directly.
