Uma Thurman’s Stalker Given Three Years’ Probation

Jack Jordan, 34, who for the past two years has been stalking Uma Thurman and harassing her family, was ordered released from jail on Monday. He was given three years’ probation, which he will spend with his parents in their Maryland house.

He also must get psychiatric care and stay away from the actress for five years. The psychiatric counselling is a condition of his probation.

“If you repeat this conduct again, you most certainly will go to jail,” warned Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro. A medical report showed he was making progress and he was “in partial remission.”

Jordan was accused of sending e-mails to Thurman’s family members, of phoning to her house for too many times and visiting her trailer on the set of the 2006 film “My Super Ex-Girlfriend.” The man could have been sentenced up to a year in prison.

“It's important that you understand that your conduct is unacceptable, is criminal,” said New York Criminal Court Judge Gregory Carro, who rejected a prosecution recommendation that Jordan return to jail, according to Reuters.

The defendant’s lawyer said Jack Jordan truly loves Uma Thurman and he had no intention of assaulting or threatening her.

“My greatest wish is that I had known sooner that I was putting fear into the heart of a woman I cared very much for, Jack Jordan, a former mental patient, said.

Uma Thurman is an Academy Award-nominated actress who played in a large variety of films, ranging from romantic comedies and dramas to science fiction and action thrillers. She rose to fame with the films Dangerous Liaisons (1988), Pulp Fiction (1994), Gattaca (1997) and Kill Bill (2003-04).
