Uma Thurman and Multi-Milionaire Arpad Busson Announce Their Engagement

Talented actress Uma Thurman and multi-millionaire Arpad Busson announced their engagement.  London financier Arpad “Arki” Busson popped the question in London at the 90th birthday dinner for Nelson Mandela.

The couple attended the party where Busson surprised the 38-year-old Oscar nominee actress with a diamond ring. After the dinner, they announced their engagement to London’s Times. The release read: “The engagement is announced between Arpad, son of Mr. Pascal Busson, of Paris, and Mrs. Florence Harcourt-Smith, of South of France, and Uma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. F. Thurman of New York,” according to People. The same source reported that a source told the 8-plus carat diamond ring, with 20 smaller stones surrounding it was “the most beautiful piece I’ve ever seen.”

London businessman and philanthropist Busson is the founder of EIM Group, a fund management business and of ARK (Absolute Return for Kids). ARK has been highly successful in raising charitable contributions to help the children who are victims of abuse, disability, illness and poverty. He has two sons by his relationship with the model Elle Macpherson. The couple separated in July 2005 without much noise. “Whilst remaining the greatest of friends, we have decided to spend some time apart to consider our future. We have had, and in many ways continue to have, a wonderful relationship, which has produced two beautiful children. There is no third party involved, their joint statement read.
