As many expected, Amy Winehouse was discharged from the
hospital where she had spent 10 days, and her representative, Chris Goodman,
claimed she would be an outpatient from now on.
The 24-year-old singer returned to the clinic between her
performances for Nelson Mandela’s anniversary and the Glastonbury Festival, but
she left the facility for good on Monday, People magazine reports.
Just after leaving the clinic Monday morning, Winehouse went
to a pub before returning home.
Goodman assured People that the singer would return for
regular appointments for check-ups. He added that Winehouse left because she
felt she was ready to leave, so no one was trying to keep her there against her
will. The singer's family are all hoping that Winehouse will try to remain an outpatient of the clinic and will not reprise her old ways.
Before Winehouse’s latest performances, many expressed their
concern for the singer and thought that she should rest for a while and put
work aside. The latest to express his opinion on the matter was Jamie Cook of
the Arctic Monkeys. He said he thought the troubled singer needed “to take a
break before sorting herself out.” Arctic Monkeys were also supposed to perform
at the Glastonbury Festival, but it eventually did not happen.
