Heigl Is Not Going Anywhere from Grey’s

Grey’s Anatomy debuted on ABC as a midseason replacement for Boston Legal, on March 27, 2005, following Desperate Housewives. The serial is an Emmy and Golden Globe award-wining American primetime television medical drama. Its series revolves around Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), who began the show as a surgical intern at Seattle Grace Hospital in Seattle.

The title of the serial makes a reference for the famous medical book “Gray’s Anatomy.”

Among the residents at the hospital, there is also Izzie Stevens, interpreted by Katherine Heigl. Rumors these days kicked Heigl off the show, but despite this, it seems that Izzie is going to spend her time in the next season on Grey’s Anatomy.

As Stephen McPherson, ABC Entertainment president said on Wednesday at the Television Critics Association’s annual fall preview, Heigl is staying with the show. He puts the rumors on fallout between the actress and the show.

In June, the actress interpreting Izzie, withdrew her name from Emmy consideration saying that she didn’t feel that she was given the material this season as to warrant an Emmy nomination.

Other rumors say that Shonda Rhimes, creator of Grey’s Anatomy, was planning to kill Izzie Stevens in the show, with a life-threatening brain tumor.

In addition to the negative rumors, McPherson added that Heigl is going to have a juicy storyline, which will be really central to everything that’s going to go on this season, according to People.
