On Sunday, an unfortunate crash
killed four people and blocked a few traffic lanes of Interstate 10 for several
hours. The California Highway Patrol reopened those about 12.30.
Heather Hoglund, CHP spokesperson
Officer, states access slopes on the westbound Santa Monica Freeway at Western Avenue carry
on being closed but the main roadway can be used.
According to Hoglund’s
declaration, at about 8.20 Sunday morning on the Santa
Monica (10) Freeway in midtown Los Angeles a Lexus lost control, went off
the highway and collided with a cement pillar which was sustaining the Western Avenue
overpass. The vehicle burst into flames and the 4 persons who were in the car,
two men and 2 women, passed away. The reason why the car hurtled was unclear. It
is for sure that no other car was involved in the accident.
CHP officers said witnesses
called the police to notify that they could not rescue the four people trapped
in the vehicle, which was upturned on the freeway's north side. They attempted
to free them but the flames were too intense.
Because baby objects were discovered in the automobile, police
officers looked for evidence, believing that among the dead people, there was
also a child. However, no baby was
found.
