Afghan Officials Injured After Suicide Attack
A convoy carrying Afghan officials in the southern part of the country was the target of a suicide attack, three persons being killed in the blast.

The explosion also injured Afghan minister of Information and Culture, Abdul Karim Khurram and governor Assadullah Khalid, government officials reported.

The suicide attacker drove his car straight into the convoy the deflagration killing three bystanders and slightly wounding the two officials. In the same Kandahar province, seven people were killed earlier by two fierce explosions.

It appears the insurgents have began to target members of the government and staff after their leader Mullah Dadullah has been killed during an operation carried out by coalition forces in the Helmand province.

The governor injured in the blast showed the body of the dead leader several times to the journalists, action which triggered the anger of the Taliban militants. Wednesday’s attacks were claimed by Taliban insurgents.
