Airstrikes Continue To Hit Gaza
The Israeli Air Force is pushing forward with its attacks in the Gaza Strip, two more buildings being bombed Tuesday afternoon after the Palestinian militants didn’t cease the heavy rocket fire.

According to an Israeli military spokeswoman, the targeted buildings were used by Hamas militants to store their weapons. Also, it was a meeting place where Palestinians planned their attacks against Israeli territories.

Israel responded to the missiles launched Monday on Sderot, which made the first victim since the beginning of the Qassam-rockets attack. A missile hit a car and killed an Israeli woman and wounded another man.

During the past week hundreds of rockets hit southern Israel, especially the town of Sderot. Thousands of people were evacuated from the region, the remaining citizens directing their anger towards buildings belonging to local authorities and protested against the government led by Ehud Olmert.

Sunday, Sderot was visited by the prime minister and EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana and witnessed the outbreak of violence. No effective solutions were found during the talks, as Olmert declared “is no absolute solution” to the offensive coming from the Strip.

Ehud Olmert’s government accused Hamas of trying to defuse their conflict with Fatah by directing the wrath of the militants towards Israel. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas found a strong ally in Israel, as the country officially categorized the Hamas movement as an terrorist organization.
