The talented multi-platinum
selling singer Alicia Keys managed to top the U.S. album chart for a fourth,
non-consecutive week, with her hit single “As I Am,” Billboard.com reported
Wednesday.
”As I Am” recorded sales of 61,000 copies last week, according to Nielsen
Soundscan, while “Juno” soundtrack is down at no. 2 with 55,000 copies sold.
According to Billboard.com, second in the Billboard 200 chart is the
soundtrack of the Oscar-nominated film “Juno,” followed at no. 3 by the Mars
Volta's "The Bedlam in Goliath.” Bullet For My Valentine’s “Scream Aim Fire”
and the “2008 Grammy Nominees” compilation CD are at no. 4 and no. 5,
respectively.
Alicia Keys has received two
Grammy nominations for this year for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and
Best R&B Song for “No One”. She is also due to perform at the 50th
Annual Grammy Awards. She has sold over 40 million albums and singles worldwide
and has won nine Grammys. Alicia Keys enjoys a great success as a performer,
producer and songwriter.
According to Alicia Keys’
official website, her latest album, “As I Am,” released on November 13, was
sold over five million worldwide. It debuted at no. 1, and has been in the top
3 every week for the past 11 weeks. Her single “No One,” is at no. 1 at Top 40
radio for the sixth consecutive week, and “Like You’ll Never See Me Again,” is
no. 1 at Urban and Urban Adult radio for the sixth and 3rd week
consecutively.
On February 25, Alicia Keys begins her European tour.
