Personal life continues to follow a silent road beyond the stage. Far from the sparkling light of reflectors, in the sauna of her Idol apartment, Kristy Lee Cook's boyfriend gave her an engagement ring, a little present to make her remember her first elimination round as a finalist which was a lucky one. Reporters found out details about the secret event after an unexpected sad news: she didn't survive American Idol's latest elimination round Wednesday night.
But the 24-year-old singer, who was once signed by Britney Spears' production company, has gained a brilliant and decisive victory in what someone think should be called the battle of life. On the stage, Cook's latest performance with Mariah Carey's “Forever” wasn't considered her best choice. But it looks like this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. With American Idol, Kristy Lee Cook became a name and her fans know that she did the best she could to win on both sides, personal life as well as on stage.
“I was kind of upset that I went home because I thought I was getting stronger and stronger," Cook said. "I thought ["Forever"] was my best performance so far. I thought I had at least another week in me.”
Perhaps she will meet again the Idol's judges on her wedding which wasn't planned yet in every little detail, but Cook has made some suppositions, saying it might be in June 2009. Bad luck on stage means luck in love-life, one may say.
