Apple announced recently that it
had to postpone the release of its already popular Apple TV software update by
a week or two. The company argued this decision by saying that it needs more
time to finish the software update, which will allow the company’s costumers to
rent movies directly from their televisions.
On Wednesday Apple also announced
that it had started shipping the brand new MacBook Air, the ultra-thin notebook
Apple introduced at Macworld in San Francisco a couple of days ago. The MacBook
Air ultra-thin notebook costs no less than $1,799; however, the device weighs
about 3 pounds, features a 13.3-inch display and it is just 0.16 of an inch
thick at its thinnest point.
When announcing its decision to
delay the Apple TV update, the company said that the software was not quite
finished, despite the fact that Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs, claimed during his
Macworld keynote that the software upgrade would be ready by the end of
January. "Apple now plans to make the free software download available to
existing Apple TV customers in another week or two," the company said in a
statement.
The upcoming software update will let
users rent movies from Apple’s iTunes online music store directly from their TV
sets. The company expects to have more than 1,000 film titles available by the
end of February.
