Apple’s iPhone Sold Better than Expected in July

Apple’s ultimate gadget, the both famous and controversial iPhone, has appeared to really be a commercial hit for the company that has created it. According to the market research company iSuppli, it seems that in July the iPhone has outsold all the other smart phones in the United States. It has been also said that in the first month of release the iPhone has as well equaled the sales of the most popular similar phones.

The two models of iPhone Apple has launched on the market have sold 1.8 percent of all mobile phones sold in that period in the United States. The ultimate gadgets seem to have sold better than the popular Blackberry series or Palm Inc.’s entire portfolio, or than any other Nokia, Motorola, Samsung or other smart phone model.

The market research company iSuppli has said that although it has not had any historical data to compare to, Apple’s iPhone seems to have achieved the fastest initial penetration on a market and sales of any phone ever. Furthermore the market research company has even said it expects Apple to sell this year about 4.5 million iPhones and about 13.5 million in the following year. These expectations have exceeded even Apple’s own goal, which has been said to be of selling 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008.
