Apple’s iPhone has been launched
as the ultimate gadget few weeks ago. Its fans can use it as a phone, a camera,
a web browsing device and they can even listen to the music or watch videos on
it. So the only problem with iPhone seems to be just that it is not also a video
gaming hand-held device, although it looks very similar to such a product. But,
if the rumors eventually prove to be true, iPhone will become also a portable
video gaming smart device. And then, Apple’s famous product should really be
called the ultimate gadget!
According to a New York Times’
article, Apple has been in fact working for some time on this “secret” project
and is now expected to make the gaming announcement soon. So, if this really
takes place and iPhone becomes also a gaming platform, the American company
will enter the battle against already rival companies Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft
and Nokia. This move will no only make iPhone an even more popular gadget, but
it will also represent an innovation in the handheld gaming industry.
The recent rumor appears to be
also the reason for which Nintendo has already started to patent its tilt
sensitivity on its DS, aiming at blocking this way similar gaming features in
the Apple’s iPhone that boasts a motion-based accelerometer.
However, rumor or not, wouldn’t
this new idea be better a source of inspiration for the video gaming consoles’
makers to just add phone, music, camera and Internet features to their products
instead of waiting for Apple’s announcement?
