According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the leader of the Democratic Party, Barack Obama, turned down actress Lindsay Lohan when she offered her support on Wednesday for his presidential campaign. Obama was quoted by the newspaper when he said “thanks, but no thanks” to Lindsay’s offer.
Lindsay wanted to host a series of events for the younger voters but Obama wasn’t interested in what she had to give for his presidential campaign. Lohan ''is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us," a spokesman for the Democratic Party told the newspaper.
It seems that the future wannabe president of the United States didn’t like the 22-year-old actress’ time in rehab and her relationship with Samantha Ronson, which is present in all the newspapers. The latest crazy thing Lindsay could have done was to bash Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin on her MySpace blog.
"I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin," Lohan wrote, urging people to vote for Obama. "Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?" Lindsay angrily noted on her web page.
She added that women have fought about having all decisions about their bodies that “it's frightening to see that a woman in 2008 would negate all of that."
