American Music Awards has its first nominations leaders. R&B
star Beyonce, rock band Linkin
Park, pop singer Justin
Timberlake and “American Idol” contestant Chris Daughtry homonymic band each scored
a hat-trick in this year’s nominations for the 35th edition of the AMA.
Artists that earned a pair of nominations include hip-hop
stars Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, T.I. and Young Jeezy and country singers Tim
McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood.
The host of the November 18 show will be Jimmy Kimmel, this
being his forth gig of this type. The Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles will be
sheltering the ceremony, that used to take place at the Shrine Auditorium. The
audience will be indulged with the announced performances of Celine Dion,
Fergie, Rihana and Daughtry.
This is the first edition that gives fans the opportunity to
take part in the voting procedure, casting online ballots until November 1 at http://www.ama.abc.com.
Until now the poll of 20,000 music buyers had been the means of deciding the
winner. However, the nominees are still selected by retail and sales data.
Due to the fact that the four luckiest artists received
nominations in the same categories, which is the case of Timberlake, Linkin
Park and Daughtry who will compete for the favorite pop/rock album or Timberlake and
Beyonce for favorite soul/R&B album.
Whoever the winners, there is still time for you to decide,
anyway the ceremony promises the spectacular moments they accustomed us every
year.
