Outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair continues to amaze with his surprise meetings, Tuesday having a close encounter with California’s governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, also known as “the Governator” as a parallel between his current function and The Terminator movie series.

The two charismatic political figures held a joint press conference in London calling for a worldwide fight against global warming, a cause that Schwarzenegger militates for since he decided to follow a political career.

The Austrian-born diplomat praised Blair for his work and underlined that the prime minister would be a perfect envoy for the battle against global warming.

“Out of selfish reasons I hope that he becomes the envoy for the environment and brings all the countries of the world together to join some kind of treaty that everyone can join and we can all together reduce greenhouse gases,” Schwarzenegger motivated his opinion.

After a decade at the helm of Britain and the Labour Party, Blair decided it is time to call it a day and leave the office on June 27. But as his final hours in 10 Downing Street are dripping, rumors that Blair will become the new envoy of the quartet for the Middle East are starting to take shape.

Schwarzenegger said he will back such a proposal from the US, EU, UN and Russia, but added Blair has what it takes to carry out both tasks due his experience and credibility.
 
Blair and the American politician then visited a newly built “economically-friendly” school, which impressed Schwarzenegger who carefully examined the design, saying he’ll try to implement a similar project in California.

Previous to his visit in the United Kingdom, Schwarzenegger passed through France and met with Nicolas Sarkozy. He expressed his confidence that France and the US will tighten their ties and said Sarkozy can certainly bring “a new energy in the relationship between France and other countries.”
