Blogging: Not As Safe As One Might Think
Blogging: Not As Safe As One Might Think

According to a recent report from the New York Times, blogging doesn’t just mean a job or a hobby anymore, as it is being turned into a lifestyle trend. And it seems that it isn’t such a healthy lifestyle to have.

The long hours spent in front of the monitor, always reading, always writing, looking for information, thinking of ways to formulate ideas, the stress of deadlines or just the stress of wanting to be the very first to approach a certain subject...all these may have serious consequences.

The New York Times mentiones three cases in which Internet-related stress may have led to heart attacks: tech blogger Russell Shaw (60) and Marc Orchant (50), who died recently, and Om Malik, a very well-known tech blogger, aged 41, who survived a heart attack.

Most bloggers work at home and many may consider this a good thing. However, in this situation it’s hard to know when to stop, given the fact that bloggers usually get paid separately for each of their posts. Another advantage of bloggers that can quickly turn bad is the fact that they have Internet access pretty much anywhere and they find it hard to let go, even when travelling. ”The office” is always just a few clicks away.

Some of the problems bloggers usually experience include weight loss or gain, sleep disorders and exhaustion.
