It appears that Britney Spears is currently in talks to
reprise her highly rated guest-starring role on the CBS show “How I Met Your
Mother,” Reuters reports. Multiple sources claimed that the producers wanted
her return for at least one more episode, in order to play a dermatology office
assistant named Abby, who falls in love with the show's main character, Ted (Josh
Radnor.) 20th century Fox Television and CBS did not comment the
rumors.
Britney’s critically praised appearance on “How I Met Your
Mother” managed to gain last month 10.6 million viewers. It was her first major
acting role since she had a guest appearance in March 2006 on “Will and Grace.”
The pop singer became famous since she was a child, starring
for the Disney Channel series “The New Mickey Mouse Club.” As a teenager she
achieved many hit songs, as, “Baby, One More Time” and “Ooops!...I Did It
Again.” Her single “Toxic” won Spears, 26, her first Grammy Award. According to
Zomba Label Group, she sold over 83 million records worldwide.
Due to Britney’s fame, her personal life received much media
attention. In March 2007 she divorced her second husband, Kevin Federline and
since then, she had been in and out rehab, lost custody of her two toddler sons,
was hospitalized twice for psychiatric evaluation and was diagnosed with
Bipolar Disorder. Her new comeback album, “Blackout,” quickly slid down the
chart.
In a recent interview with the “Yo on E!” satellite radio
show,” Madonna showed her support for Britney Spears, insisting that the media
should step off the troubled singer.
