A VMA presser took place on Thursday, three days before the big show. Paramount Studios hosted the first press conference of the 2008 Video Music Awards and of course Russell Brand, the host of the show, was there to take the interviews and sustain the atmosphere.
Dressed in a black vest and super-tight trousers, Russell Brand welcomed the media to the promising “bloody exciting” pre-show. He presented the “God’s favorite virgins, the Jonas Brothers” as to make an incredible show on Sunday, which he described to be so good that "it will make the concept of an afterlife seem tame by comparison."
That was how Russell Brand also introduced Christina Aguilera, who appeared in a black limousine, looking so good in some high heels, saying that her performance at the VMA’s will be her first on stage concert since she gave birth to her baby boy. On Sunday, she will present her new single, “Keeps Getting Better,” which is also the name of a best-of album scheduled to be released in November.
"You're going to get a first look and a first listen at my new image and my new sound. The last album, the style and sound was about vintage glam — this one is all about the future," Christina Aguilera added. She also said that her son will be able to watch her on TV for the first time in his life.
T.I. was the second interviewed by the crazy host. The singer appeared on a fire escape adjacent to the conference and grabbed the microphone to make the announcement on his own. After he had joined Christina Aguilera and Russell Brand, he said that he was to present a new song of his on Sunday night. The single will be from his last album, “Paper Trail.”
Also Kayne West will sing at the VMA’s and he will do a super-sized performance on his own, even if he had promised not to come to the VMA’s never again after last year’s events.
