An arrest warrant has been issued against former child actress Lindsay Lohan for driving under the influence in 2007, according to a statement released by police. Nevertheless, the star’s lawyer called the entire incident a “misunderstanding.” “The $50,000 warrant issued by the Beverly Hills Superior Court stems from a May 2007 arrest of Miss Lohan for DUI and hit-and-run,” read the Beverly Hills police statement, which was released on Saturday. In addition, the statement explained that the facts that initiated the “issuance of the warrant” were not immediately available and that police officials hoped Lindsay Lohan would turn herself in so as to solve the problem in due time. A couple of months after leaving rehab, the 22-year-old actress was taken into police custody for driving under the influence and possession of cocaine. However, she only stayed 84 minutes behind bars and was sentenced to 10 hours of community service and three years of probation. Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley said during television program “Extra” that his client had met all the terms and conditions of her probation, as well as all of the Court’s orders. “The warrant issued on Friday was, in our view, born out of a misunderstanding which I am confident I can clear up next week,” “Extra’s” Web site cited Shawn Chapman Holley as saying. On the other hand, celebrity gossip Web site TMZ.com reported that various sources claimed Lindsay Lohan was not complying with the terms of her probation and that representatives of the actress’ alcohol education program informed the court on Friday about her violation of the probation’s terms.
