Davenport Wins Against Govortsova in Memphis
Lindsay Davenport managed to beat Olga Govortsova in straight sets on Saturday in the final of the Regions Morgan Keegan Championship in Memphis, as the former world number one has won the 55th singles title of her career.

Since her returning on the court after giving birth to her son in last September, the player has recovered extremely well and won most of the competitions she took part at. The 6-2 6-1 victory on Saturday was the second of this season and the fourth since she started competing again.

Sixty minutes were enough for Davenport to kneel Govortsova, 19, who was the event's fifth seed and was playing in her first final. The game was a first for both players, as Govortsova has never played against Davenport, who took part at this event for the first time in her career.

Eight service aces and the conversion of 89 percent of her first- service points brought the 31-year- old Davenport the 28.000 dollars, what the winner’s check was worth.

Davenport, who also won the title in Auckland, New Zealand, this season, had not played in a tournament on American soil since the summer of 2005, when the Pilot Pen Tennis Classic in New Haven, Connecticut, was organized.
