Dell revealed yesterday their latest creation for the enthusiastic (and extremely rich) clientele, the XPS 720 H2C Edition- factory overcloked. The XPS 720 H2C comes with at least 2GB of RAM from Corsair (the DOMINATOR EPP high-end series) which have a default FSB of 800 MHz, but are pushed by Dell to no less than 1066MHz (and that speed is guaranteed!). The company’s press release does not mention the frequencies, but with that type of RAM a quad core CPU is definitely welcome, wouldn’t you say? Dell thought at that too and readied for the XPS mammoth a massively-overclocked Intel Quad Core QX6700 processor running at the default speed of 2.66GHz. But did you think that an overclocked DOMINATOR works with a default quad core? Me neither…And neither did the Texas hardware giant, which guarantees that the aforementioned CPU works very well and without glitches at the factory-overclocked speed of… 3.46GHz!! Now imagine this: you have a quad core whose four hearts work simultaneously at 3.46GHz and at least 2GB or Corsair DDR 2 RAM…Do you need more?... Of course you do!…Did you forget about the nForce 680i SLi MCP chipset from Nvidia? Or the SLI-enabled dual 768MB Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX graphics cards? Or the Dual 160GB SATA 3GB/s 10,000RPM hard drives and the Blu Ray optical drive?... If that is not enough to make you drool, think of the fact that you can also upgrade to an even more powerful CPU (does that even exist?!), meaning that Dell can equip your XPS with an QX6800 quad core running at the dazzling default speed of 2.93GHz, but which has been overclocked at no less than 3.73GHz… Since XPS 720 H2C is mainly built for gaming enthusiasts, Dell is also ready to equip it with an Ageia PhysX, useful in games like Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter or “CellFactor: Revolution,” from Artificial Studios, Timeline Interactive and Immersion Games. Displays for the XPS range from 24-inch UltraSharp 2407FPW widescreens to 27-inch UltraSharp 2707WFP widescreens. The pricing for all this starts at $5.999…
