Dr. Jan Adams, the plastic surgeon who operated on rap star
Kanye West's mother before she died last autumn was arrested in Solano County
on Thursday, being accused of drunk driving and driving on a suspended license.
Police officials declared that Adams was seen making use of
an off-ramp in order to get on a freeway in the town of Vallejo,
North California, and was driving on a
suspended license from a prior DUI. This was the third arrest since 2004 the
surgeon got based on the same accusations.
The police officers were telephoned by drivers that had
noticed something was not right about the 2004 Jaguar XJ8 heading south in the
northbound lanes of Interstate 680 near Benicia.
He was detained and charged in Solano County
on incriminations of driving under the influence of alcohol, which overpassed
the state's 0.08% limit and driving on a suspended license from a 2006 DUI
conviction, officials said.
Donda West, 58, passed away last fall after a breast
reduction, tummy tuck and liposuction carried out by Adams.
At that time, the Medical Board of California was searching for suspending or
canceling Adams' license because of previous
alcohol-related arrests.
Adams informed The Times
that nothing had gone wrong when he performed the operation.
An autopsy report proved that she most likely died of heart
disease and complications from the plastic surgery.
