Failures in Stopping the WTC Fire
Firefighters tried to call nearly 30 times from a burning skyscraper. Two firefighters died at the scene, as an official from the fire department has stated. The fire started at the former Deutsche Bank tower on August 18, 2007 and the Fire Department of New York said that communication breakdowns and fire hazards in the building stopped the proper working of the firemen.

The report wasn’t authorized to be public but an official told the Associated Press about the causes of the problem on conditions of anonymity on Wednesday. The report had 176 pages and was written by chief investigators of the blaze. This report was to be made public on Thursday.

The building of the Deutsche Bank was damaged on September 11, 2001, when the World Trade Center collapsed into it. But the 2007 blazes badly damaged the place and dismantled it. The case has been overlooked for nearly one year and a grand jury will decide if contractors and government officials will be charged.

Still, the report didn’t refer to why fire officials stopped from inspecting the building but city officials believe that the broken standpipe of the building hurried the fire to spread, together with blocked stairwells that kept the building in smoke.

More than 67 minutes were needed for the firemen to start fighting the fire because of the burdens on their way. Beddia, 53, and Graffagnino, 33, were found dead at the 14th floor as they weren’t wearing the masks connected to the air tanks.
