A filling with the Securities and Exchange Commission revealed on Friday that Ford Motor Co. rewarded its Chief Executive Alan Mulally with 21.7 million dollars in 2007 alone. According to The Detroit News, the total amount was raised with a 2 million dollars salary, 7 million dollars in bonuses and various stock awards, while its compensations were smaller than a year before, when he was paid a gross 28.2 million dollars. Ford Motor Co., the world's third- largest automaker, said that it reduced its losses from 12.6 billion dollars in 2006 to 2.7 billion dollars last year, but in the same time, Ford shares dropped by ten percent in 2007. Other top executives at Ford received an almost double or triple award payment, the Detroit Free Press reported on Friday. Chief Financial Officer Don Leclair earned a 1 million dollars salary, a bonus of 3 million dollars and awards for a total package worth 8.4 million dollars. Also, Ford's President of the Americas Mark Fields received 8.4 million dollars, while head of Ford of Europe Lewis Booth grossed around 10.3 million dollars, the report said. Chief Executive Officer for Ford Credit Mike Bannister was awarded 8.7 million dollars. On the contrary, the executive chairman did not earn any money during 2007, the report said, as he kept his promise in 2005 of not taking any pay until the company would dig itself out of the red.
