Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus:
Best of Both Worlds Concert is the next box office record breaker, ranking in
$29 million for the biggest opening over the Super Bowl weekend, which is
normally a slow period at the American box office. Hannah Montana & Miley
Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert is a Walt Disney 3-D movie, presenting Cyrus’
(also known as Hannah Montana) 2007 singing tour. The movie seems to have
attracted mostly teenage girls, who hurried up in theaters along with their
parents.
"We're looking at this and
realizing we made a little piece of movie history," said Mark Zoradi, Walt
Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group’s president. Zoradi also added that
"This has been a family movie, and we've had lots of parents exiting
theaters saying, 'thank you because we couldn't get into any of her concerts.'"
However, Walt Disney’s making “a
little piece of movie history” is also due to the fact that Hannah Montana
& Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert competed against movies such as
the supernatural thriller The Eye and the romantic comedy 27 Dresses, which
were on the next spots of the top with only $13 and $8.4 million respectively.
Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus:
Best of Both Worlds Concert tells the story of Cyrus, country singer Billy Ray
Cyrus’ teenage daughter, who is a typical teenager in daily life, but has also
a secret singing career in weekends.
