Iraqi Policemen And US Soldiers Killed In Iraq
Three Iraqi police officers and three US soldiers were killed in the last two days by bomb explosions in different parts of the country, authorities informed Friday.

The three killed soldiers were part of a search mission for their missing comrades and died when a roadside bomb exploded Thursday.

Three US soldiers were reported missing Saturday about 35 kilometers south of the Iraqi capital after insurgents unleashed a fierce attack on security forces, killing five persons. Until now the whereabouts of the troopers are still unknown, but a militant group claimed it has the three soldiers. The news wasn’t confirmed yet.

Meanwhile, three policemen died Friday after a suicide bomber detonated his deadly charge at a checkpoint 60 kilometers south of Baghdad, the Iraqi police informed.

In the Diyala province, a military base belonging to the US army was attacked by dozens of insurgents Friday, the local media reported. According to anonymous sources six of the attackers were killed in the clash, but further details haven’t been released.
The base is located in Baquba, the capital of the province. Diyala is the scene of violent clashes between governmental and coalition forces, as the attacks continue for the second consecutive month.

Elsewhere, the coalition troops continue their raids in Baghdad and other regions believed to host terrorist elements. A report issued by the US military said six suspects were detained Friday in a joint action with the local security forces.
