Janet Jackson Hospitalized before Concert in Canada

Janet Jackson, 42, was taken to the hospital before her concert in Montreal, Canada. The singer now hopes to reschedule the concert, which is part of her “Rock Withcu Tour 2008.” She seemed to have “got suddenly ill” during her sound check, according to her publicist. But last Friday, the 42-year-old singer canceled her concert in Detroit too because of “production constrains.”

Janet Jackson is being monitored at a hospital in Canada, but no further details about her condition have been released by her publicist.

Recently, the singer closed her contract with Island Def Jam records after she had been working with them for 14 months. The singer announced that she wants to departure from Island Def Jam and her publicist told Reuters that the label agreed to finish the relationship with Janet Jackson whenever she requested.

Janet stated that he decided to end the contract because the Island records, which released her last album “Discipline” in February, couldn’t offer her any publicity besides promoting her video “Feedback.” She was also unsatisfied about the fact that the lack of publicity made the album sell only a few copies.

Janet Jackson started her career back in 1974, at the age of seven, when she appeared on stage in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a show at the MGM Casino. Her father, Joseph Jackson, was her manager when she started recording and also when she began her career as an actress on the CBS variety show “The Jacksons” in 1976.
