The United States People magazine reported on Thursday that Jennifer Love Hewitt has become engaged to her Scottish boyfriend, actor Ross McCall.

The engagement took place last week, almost two years after the couple began to date. Hewitt, 28, received an antique engagement ring that McCall had in his family for more than 100 years.

No date for the wedding was announced.

The two, who were never married before, are now in vacation in Hawaii.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has previously declared for the People magazine that her relationship works due to the fact that they do not have to put a lot of effort into it.

"It's the first time I've ever been in a relationship where you don't have to try," she said in April. "And I think that's the answer. That's when you know that you're in something really good and healthy."

McCall, 31, co- starred in the 2001 HBO mini- series Band of Brothers and also appeared in one episode of Ghost Whisperer in 2006, next to Hewitt.
