The pop-rock star, 23-year-old Avril Lavigne, is going to
launch her own clothing line in July, USA Today reports. The singer
partnered with manufacturer Jerry Laigh for her collection, and the name of the
line is going to be actually her childhood nickname, Abbey Dawn. According to
USA Today, Lavigne’s clothes are going to be sold exclusively at Kohl’s.
The clothes are designed according to her style, because she
said that the way she clothes is totally different from what girls could find on
the market. Moreover, the line will feature jewelry and apparel. In an
interview for USA Today, Lavigne said “I actually am the designer. What’s
really important to me is that everything fits well and is well made, so I try
everything on and approve it all.”
The rocker-chick clothing line will include skulls, plaids
with checks and stripes as well as “a lot of hot pinks and blacks and stars and
purple and zebra.” The prices are also special, because the pop-rock singer
wants for the clothes to be accessible for everyone. As a result the clothes
will be found at prices between $24 and $48.
According to USA Today, Don Brennan of Kohl’ said that “it’s
a rock collection with a feminine edge. I think it will broaden who we bring
into our junior department.” Avril Lavigne promised that she will wear these
clothes including on stage during her Best Damn Tour, which starts today in
Canada, Victoria and British Columbia. Moreover, her husband of two years, Deryck Whibley member of
Sum41 band, “is excited for me because he knows, especially with the clothing,
I’ve wanted to do this for a while. He’s really supportive. He likes anything I
like pretty much.”
