Lenovo Brings IdeaCentre K210 In The US

On Monday, Lenovo Group Limited launched its IdeaCentre K210 computer in the US, thus making its debut in offering consumer desktops outside of China. Earlier this year, Lenovo also launched a series of notebooks outside of its home territory, starting with the US as well.

One of the more unusual features of the IdeaCentre K210 consists in the facial-recognition technology that was implemented in order to allow users to log on by letting the computer’s camera scan their faces.

The K210 also includes an anti-microbial keyboard that comes with a special material that inhibits bacterial growth. This should come in very handy in places where the computer’s users change oftenly.

The desktop also features Bright Vision technology, that can automatically adjust the monitor’s brightness, depending on how far away the user is from it; this can be done if Lenovo Bright Eye Camera hardware is connected to the system.

Lenovo’s machine packs an Intel Core 2 quad-core processor, as well as GMA 3100 integrated graphics. It features an optional Blu-ray DVD drive and the possibility to upgrade to an ATI Radeon 2600 XT graphics card, in order to cover PC gaming.

System prices start at $379. The L195W 19-inch monitor can be purchased for $229 (both prices work after a mail-in rebate).
