Lindsay’s mother, Dina Lohan, says she supports her daughter’s
decision of posing naked for New York magazine, Celebrity News reports.
Dina Lohan declared that she didn’t see the pictures vulgar
in any way, but tasteful and artistic.
“It was tastefully done,” says Dina Lohan, 45, according to
Celebrity News. “I respect the photographer as an artist, so I look at them
artistically. I don't look at them like it's Playboy, she was being a character.
So if you look at it that way, you can look at it as a mother.”
Being a big fan of Marilyn Monroe, Lindsay Lohan said that
she saw the photo shoot as a once in a lifetime opportunity.
"I wanted to portray the look and get it point-on as
much as I could, to bring it back to life. I was comfortable with it, the
nudity and everything,” Lindsay said, according to Stuff.
Photographer Bert Stern, who photographed Lindsay, is the
same photographer who shot the collection of photos of Marilyn Monroe known as “The
Last Sitting”, 46 years ago.
Taken at the hotel Bel-Air, the sensual photos show a
sleepy, naked and slightly drunk Marilyn, wrapped in various transparent
scarves. Six weeks after taking the famous photographs, Monroe was found dead
of a barbiturate overdose.
Referring to the diva’s death, Lindsay said she considered
it tragic, and connected it to Heath Ledger’s death.
“It's also tragic what just recently happened to someone
else. They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone,”
she said, for the New York magazine.
Photographer Bert Stern stated that he was very pleased with
the results of the photo shoot.
"It was very similar, déjà vu you might say, like
revisiting an old street."
