Northern Los Angeles has been attacked by big flames on Tuesday. The gusty Santa Ana winds have sent the biggest wildfires from southern California. Many homes in the area were threatened by the big blazes. Special crews and helicopters tried to fight the fire which was spread on more than 20-sqaure miles above the San Fernando Valley communities of Porter Ranch and Granada Hills.

Still, despite their desperate trying, the flames moved toward west to Ventura County and Simi Valley neighborhoods. The area was protected by many helicopters, airplanes and ground crews, ready to fight the terrible flames. This fire has destroyed more than 34 square miles of Southern California.

It also burnt down many homes, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate the area. One man died because of the burns and another one was killed in a crash because the fire threatened the freeway. 15 homes and 47 buildings were burnt down in Porter Ranch area.

Fire officials announced on Tuesday night the places destroyed by the blaze but they didn’t know how much of the fire was contained. At 10 miles of Los Angeles, other special crews fought against another fire.

Another 3,950-acre fire was 60% contained on the north coast of San Diego, at the Marine Corps’ Camp Pendleton. Residents from nearly 1,500 homes were lifted the evacuation orders in Oceanside. Many Marine Corps personnel and family members from military housing could return back to their homes. Still, many residents had to remain inside the shelters.
