Lost Planet 2 Released Via Xbox Live

The Japanese publisher Capcom confirmed the fact that gamers will soon return to EDN III via Xbox Live. The fans of the Lost Planet game that had experienced the frozen wasteland planet will now have to face the lush jungle.

The news about the Lost Planet was officially confirmed today, after it had leaked at the end of January 2009. The third-person shooter of Capcom from 2007, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, will definitely get a newer and better sequel. Famitsu magazine, the Japanese gaming magazine, had received the confirmation of the plans toward the game last month.

Still, Capcom hasn’t released any certain information until today. The Japanese publisher issued a video via Xbox Live in the United States which includes game play footage together with an introduction from the producer of Resident Evil 5, Jun Takeuchi. He is also considering the production of Lost Planet 2 and a short Q&A with Kenji Oguro, the director of the game.

The trailer didn’t represent any kind of confirmation for the platforms, but Keiji Inafune from Capcom, told Famitsu magazine when the rumors was first heard in January, that Lost Planet 2 will surely be coming to several platforms. Yet, Oguro and Takeuchi didn’t want to mention anything about the player feedback in the introduction and Q&A.

Mainly, they both promise online co-play and told that the story of the game will be presented from several angles, so it won’t follow just one main character. The extended segments of the game play show some fights between on-foot human troopers and giant mechanics, looking much alike the first version of Lost Planet.
