The Anaheim Ducks lead 3-2 the Western Conference finals after a 2-1 comeback win over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday. The Ducks got lucky within a minute in regulation time as they were one goal behind. Scott Niedermayer's deflected shot bounced over Dominik Hasek's glove on a power play and the game was tied with 47.3 seconds left, although the Red Wings dominated the game. Anaheim can finish off Red Wings with a win at home on Tuesday night. The Eastern Conference champions Ottawa Senators awaits the winner of this series. If Game 7 is necessary, it will be played Thursday night in Detroit. Andreas Lilja scored his first playoff goal at 6:13 of the second period but Anaheim’s perseverance paid off getting them in the over time. Detroit had many chances to score goals that would have decided the game, they also had a man advantage in the overtime but finished 0 for 7. Anaheim’s Jean-Sebastien Giguere had a great game finishing with 36 saves and improved to 12-1 after regulation in the playoffs. "We couldn't score," Dominik Hasek stated. "They pull the goalie and score on a deflection off my defenseman's stick. "It was a lucky goal, but it still counts the same as the others." With 1:47 left in overtime, after Datsyuk was called for interference, Anaheim took advantage and pulled their goalie out for a 6-on-4 advantage on the ice. The move was successful as Teemu Selanne scored 11 minutes 57 seconds into overtime to seal the dramatic victory over the Red Wings who had totally dominated the contest. "This group is a resilient bunch of athletes that are committed to doing whatever it takes," Anaheims coach Randy Carlyle said in the press conference. "In the end we found a way to get it done, there's no quit in this group."
