Apple announced
on Tuesday brand new updates to its popular MacBook and MacBook Pro computers.
Practically, MacBook Air’s Multi-Touch trackpad will be added also to Apple’s MacBook
Pro older computer, while the MacBook line will get a significant speed bump.
The Multi-Touch
feature, which Apple first introduced on the MacBook Air, allows users “play”
with photos on their computers with simple finger motions and not only. Users
can rotate, zoom in and out photos or swipe to simplify web browsing in Safari
very quickly. The Multi-Touch trackpad is not a touch screen, but it works
somehow similarly to Apple’s iPhone’s touch screen.
So, Apple’s
recently updated MacBook Pro will be using an Intel Core 2 Duo microprocessor
featuring up to 2.6 GHz processing power and 6 MB L2 cache. It will also
support up to 4 GB of RAM memory and up to 300 GB of storage. The new MacBook
Pro will also come with Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT graphics card with 512 MB of
video memory.
People will be
able to buy the 15.4-inch versions of MacBook Pro for $1,999, while the 17-inch
versions will be priced $2,799.
Apple improved
also its MacBooks, which got a speed bump too.
When buying a
MacBook, customers will also get other features, such as Apple’s built-in iSight
camera, 802.11n wireless connectivity, the iLife ’08 creative suite and others.
