153 people died after Madrid plane crashed. Investigators are now searching for the causes of the accident. The plane crashed and exploded shortly after it took off in Spain’s capital. Only 19 people remained alive from the crash and King Juan Carlos already met the relatives of the victims.
Spanair flight JK 5022 had 172 people on board when it took off on Wednesday evening. The airplane crashed and exploded. Many of the survivors are still in critical condition. The government has settled three days of mourning are flags will be at half-mast. Four of the victims of the crash are in serious condition and other six are “slightly better.” Other eight injured passengers will remain under the doctors’ observation.
Twenty children and two babies were on board of the JK 5022. The airplane was heading to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands and was coming from Madrid. Officials from Spanair expressed their sadness about the crash. They also stated that they will offer all their support to the victims and the relatives of the dead people.
"We are committed to continue to give that support for a long, long time from now," the Spanair’s owner, SAS, said in a report about the crash.
At the scene crowds of people were waiting for the injured and dead lists. Survivors were asking about their parents and parents were asking about their children. A mortuary held in a conference center close to Barajas Airport in Madrid people were still waiting for an answer.
