The Abbot Kinney Street Festival in Venice was the witness of a terrible murder on Sunday night. A man was shot to dead and pronounced dead at a hospital, while a woman was critically wounded by another bullet. According to Los Angeles police Officer Karen Smith of the Media Relations Section, the shooting occurred at about 9:20 p.m. on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in the 1200 block. The man was about 30 years old and the woman 25. She was taken to the hospital in a critical condition after she had been shot in her face. The gunman might have been a street vendor at the festival. Still, the police don’t know if the two people were shot by the same person as they were a block apart. Officer Smith stated that the police are searching for a Hispanic male which is about 5 feet 9 inches, medium build, dark haired and dark clothing as the witnesses at the festival said that a gunman dressed in black "just walked up and started shooting." The Abbot Kinney Street Festival in Venice was at its 24th celebration between Main Street and Venice Boulevard. The festival featured nearly 300 arts and crafts vendors, a Youth and Family Court, three musical stages, a “Green Living Tent,” three food courts and a beer garden.
