Mavericks Kneeled Undefeated Rockets
The undefeated Huston (3-0) played against Dallas, coming to the game with their hopes high, as they tried to defeat the league’s best. For the first 44 minutes the Rockets were keeping up with the game, having big chances to nail the opponents.

With their new coach, Rick Adelman, Huston acted really well in the first part of the game, with Chinese Yao Ming scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Tracy McGrady chipping 35, but its defense lost its concentration in the last part of the play.

At halftime, the Rockets succeeded to keep the difference low, at a slim 51-50 edge, and leading with 70-65 with only two minutes before the end of the third quarter, but then Terry scored seven points, including a 3-pointer, ending the quarter with Mavericks 77-75 edge.

"We wanted to close out the quarter strong, because they had made a little run on us," Terry said. "Our objective was to get back at them quickly and that's what happened. We got a couple of turnovers, a couple of rebounds and we converted on the other end."

McGrady, who was named the Western Conference Player of the Week, has declared that the defeat was an experience to learn out of, since the team is still growing and getting better from the last couple of months.

The Huston Rockets suffered their first loss of the season, under the reign of Jason Terry, also known as the “Jet”.

The Mavericks head coach, Avery Johnson, praised the “Jet”, who scored 31 points off the bench, including two 3-pointers, and was crucial in two second half rallies, helping the Mavericks to win by 107 to 98 against the visiting Rockets, on Monday.

"Jet is really playing some good basketball for us," said Johnson.

Besides the Terry, Josh Howard also had nailed 21 points, along with Dirk Nowitzki, the reigning league MVP, who had 19 points at the end of the game.

Jerry Stackhouse has scored 19 points for the Mavericks, who ended the game with 27 out of 28 free throws.

The Rockets coach has declared at the end of the game that Jerry has to be watched all the time or else he would score, as he definitely did.

"We're one up on them now, but we can't get too excited, because we have to go down there (Houston) at the end of the month," Terry said. "They're a good team and a team to be reckoned with in this division."
