Authorities announced on Thursday that a medical helicopter crashed and killed four people. The accident occurred in a Chicago suburb and a 13-year-old girl was among the dead. She was suffering seizures. The aircraft was heading toward Children’s Memorial hospital in Chicago and was coming from Valley West Hospital in Sandwich. Around midnight, in its way to Chicago, the helicopter went down, according to Sgt. Robb Wallers, Aurora police spokesman. He added that the helicopter was owned by Air Angels Inc. which is an emergency medical transport service. Still, the officials at Air Angels Inc. didn’t return any call on early Thursday. Wallers also said that the dead people were three crew members and the little girl who was only 13 years old. Julie Pesch, spokeswoman for Children’s Memorial Hospital, stated that the girl was being transported to the hospital because she was suffering some ugly epileptic seizures. It seems that the helicopter crashed in east Aurora near a residential area and turned into flames as it hit the ground. Not only until midnight did the police and fire officials find out about the crash and the explosion, said Wallers. Investigators from the National Transportation Board Arrived to the scene too, to see the exact causes of the fall. This was the 9th helicopter crash from the last 12 months across the country, which involved medical patients. Some new investigations have been issued to see whether the systems built to save lives aren’t exactly losing them.
