Michael Lohan provided a DNA sample for a
paternity test hoping to prove that the 13-year-old girl isn’t his.
But a source was quoted as saying by New York gossip column
Page Six: “He’s approaching everyone to get the highest bid because, if he is
the dad, he’s going to need the money for back child support.”
It appears that Lindsay Lohan’s father has
already approached magazines like OK! and People and asked for $20,000 for the
rights to his story if the paternity test reveals that he is Ashley’s father.
On the other hand, if the test is found to be
negative, he plans to sue Kristi Kauffman for libel and defamation. He didn’t
know the girl existed until Kristi Kauffman contacted him while he was in jail for
DUI and other charges and she told him that her husband at that time turned up
negative in the paternity test and that the result meant that Lohan was the
father.
The mystery woman said he was the only man she was with, but Lohan has
some serious doubts about that. “I find it hard to believe because she has had
three other relationships since that time and is going through another divorce
now,” Lohan told the Daily News.
Kristi’s wish is that this mystery to be
solved and the truth to be brought to light. Kauffman claims that she and Lohan
had a love affair while Lohan was separated from his wife, Dina, Lindsay’s
mother and the woman whom he married in 1985.
The results of the test are expected to
come out in two weeks.
