After Microsoft had dismissed 1,400 employees from the corporation, the ex-workers received another shocking piece of news over the last weekend. The software giant released an announcement through which they talked about the overpaid and the underpaid employees of the corporation, which were laid off last month. So Microsoft thought that it would be better that the overpaid employees would give back the money to the company, so they could pay the other ones. The corporation apologized for what they described to be an “inadvertent administrative error” and also released a letter to the employees whom they dismissed. Talking about the administration error which had occurred last month, Microsoft told its ex-employees that the error resulted in an overpayment in severance and asked them to repay that overpayment, closing the letter by apologizing for the “inconvenience.” Lou Gellos, the spokesman at Microsoft, confirmed the letter on Saturday evening but refused to make any further comments connected to this issue, claiming that it was a private matter of the corporation and the affected employees. Yet, he talked about some employees who had been dismissed but proved to be underpaid, but didn’t say anything about the number of people who had been affected by the administrative error. Certain data shows that Microsoft has performed last month the first lay off plan for its employees and over the next 18 months, more than 5,000 employees will lose their jobs at the corporation. Considering the entire economic crisis that takes place in the United States at the moment, one of the biggest software corporation, Microsoft, couldn’t be left aside off it.
