The famous software maker
Microsoft Corp. has recently denied that it has been its software that has
arbitrarily changed Windows Vista’ update settings. The company has even
claimed that it has been the users that are responsible for the modifications
that have generated the claims of unauthorized patch installs. So, it wasn’t
Microsoft, but could the Windows Vista users be really responsible of this
problem?
Microsoft Corp. has made these
public statements as a reaction to the reports that have first surfaced on last
Friday; a program manager for Microsoft’s Windows Update has said on Wednesday that
it has been an investigation that has turned up no evidence that the October 9
security fixes have in fact switched the settings in Windows Vista’s Automatic
Updates.
"From the customer logs that
we received, we found that none of the updates released as part of the October
security release have made any changes to users' AU settings.” – has said Nate
Clinton, the program manager of Microsoft’s Windows Update.
All the discussions have appeared
after the users have claimed that their brand new operating system’s Automatic
Updates settings have mysteriously reverted to the “install automatically”
setting, although it hasn’t been them to check this option on. This flaw has appeared
soon after the release from last Tuesday of six security updates.
However, the fact that these
recent complaints have appeared only in the messages of the AeroXperience’s
forum’s members is also very strange. Is Microsoft angry against these web site’s
users or what?
