Anaheim Ducks won 4-3 over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday and tied the Western Conference Finals at 1-1. The decisive goal was scored at 14:17 in overtime by Scott Niedermayer after an assist from his younger brother,Rob Niedermayer, who also scored the first goal of the game. This is S. Niedermayer’s second goal of the playoffs. "He just chipped it back to me, and I didn't really have anyone on me," S. Niedermayer said of the game-winner. "I had time to make the shot." “It was a pretty big win for us obviously. We just kept battling, tied the game and got it to overtime,” he added at the press conference. Anaheim outshot Detroit again, 33 to 27, and seemed to outplay the home team. Dominik Hasek had 29 saves and Jean-Sebastien Giguere finished with 24. "Five on five, they spent more time below the hash marks in our zone than we spent in their zone," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock told the reporters. Fortune was on Detroit’s side in Game 1 as both their goals were scored after the puck touched a Ducks player before going in. In Game 2 they weren’t as lucky. "We had some lucky bounces in the first and they had a few in this one," Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg said. Anaheim’s second and third goals were registered on the scoreboard only after video reviews. "Both pucks were in the net. It's as simple as that," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. "You're supposed to be rewarded when the puck goes in the net." Game 3 is Tuesday night in Anaheim.
