Palestinian girl Killed in an Israeli Air Strike

A four-year-old Palestinian girl was killed and her mother wounded in an Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip. The Israel army confirmed it carried out an air strike in the area, saying it targeted a group of militants. Apparently, the bomb missed its target and landed near a house, security forces said.

“The air force conducted a raid and fired at Palestinian gunmen,” an Israeli military spokeswoman said.

The Khan Yunes hospital identified the girl as Aya Al-Manjar. Her mother is in critical condition.

The two were injured outside their house near Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The attack in Gaza came after Palestinian militants shelled an Israeli kibbutz (a collective village), killing one person and wounding three. An Israeli military spokesman said the attack targeted the area from which Palestinian militants earlier fired rockets that slammed into the Nir Oz kibbutz in southern Israel.

Hamas’s armed wing said it fired three mortar bombs which it said “killed a Zionist and wounded some others.” Israeli police described the attack as a rocket strike on a factory at the Nir Oz kibbutz in southern Israel.

“We will confront the occupier with all our means and we will continue striking the Zionist military sites and settlements around Gaza in response to the continued aggression against our people,” Hamas said in a statement.
