Rex Grossman to Remain With The Chicago Bears For One More Year
Despite rumors that said otherwise, quarterback Rex Grossman is likely to remain at the Chicago Bears for one more year, since the NFL team announced that it is willing to offer the player a one- year contract.

According to The Chicago Tribune on Saturday, a source, whose identity remained withheld, declared that the new deal came only after long talks between Grossman’s agent and Bears general manager Jerry Angelo, but that it still offers a price below the price for an NFL quarterback with Grossman's experience.

The source, who is a person inside the league, said that the offer is more likely not to exceed 2 million dollars, even with incentives.

The deal, which was reportedly reached on Friday, came just a day after the Bears’ head coach, Lovie Smith, declared that he thought that Grossman’s greatest days on the field stand in the future, expressing his confidence in the quarterback.

The Chicago Tribune also reported that both Smith and Angelo said that if Grossman does remain with the Bears, he would be forced to compete with quarterback Kyle Orton for a starting position.
