Ribery wins German player union poll
France and Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery was the best player in the Bundesliga last season, according to a poll among professional players conducted by Germany's player union VDV.

Ribery won 37.3 per cent of the votes to win ahead of his Bayern Munich teammate Luci Toni, the Italy striker garnering 19.3 per cent. Brazil and Werder Bremen playmaker Diego came third with 7.1 per cent after winning the poll in 2007.
