Scrubs Without Zack Braff
Scrubs Without Zack Braff
“Variety” informs that Zack Braff will leave “Scrubs,” produced by ABC Studios, at the end of the upcoming eighth season.
The TV medical comedy's production will be upgraded to high-definition for its eighth-season premiere on the American television network.
Creator and show runner Bill Lawrence said at the Television Critics Assn. press tour on Wednesday: "It was a pleasant surprise to have people from the network visit the set, because nobody has done that in six or seven years." He added: "I don't think that's NBC dropping the ball; I think it's the difference of doing a show for a network that also produces you."

There were voice claiming it will be the “Scrub’s” final season and the end of actor Zach Braff playing the role of Dr. John “J.D.” Dorian.

Lawrence said the sitcom will come to an end with J.D. leaving the hospital. “When you leave, it's about holding on to your relationships." But then he suggested that a ninth season will continue “Scrubs,” saying: "You can't kill this show."

Braff said he didn’t exclude the possibility to return in the series. He may come back as a guest star and perhaps to helm one of the episodes. Some say he will now focus on directing the indie drama “Open Hearts,” a project which is labeled as being in production.
