It appears that Oscar winning actor Sean Penn and his wife
actress Robin Wright Penn withdrawn their divorce petition filed in December on
Tuesday, according to a court document posted on TMZ.com, Reuters reports. Reps
for the couple could not be immediately available for comment.
Robin Wright Penn filed the paperwork on December 21 in
Marin County Superior Court, north of San
Francisco, where the pair holds their primary
residence. The reason she was ending the marriage was cited as irreconcilable
differences. However, it turns out that whatever differences they had, were not
so irreconcilable after all.
Sean Penn, 47, and Robin Wright Penn, 42, have been married
for 11 years and they have two children. They met on the set of the 1990
thriller “State of Grace”
and got married in 1996.
The couple was spotted at an Eddie Vedder concert in San Francisco Tuesday
night, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. It appears that Penn dedicated
a song to his wife, as they arrived at pal Vedder’s concert in the city in order
to celebrate Wright Penn’s birthday.
Sean Penn has enjoyed a long acting career in movies and
managed to win the best actor Oscar for his leading role in 2003’s Mystic River.
On December 18, 2006, he received the “Christopher Reeve First Amendment Award
from the The Creative Coalition.” Penn is also a successful director, as his
film “Into the Wild,” won solid reviews last year.
Robin Wright Penn gained notoriety in the 1980s, playing
Kelly Capwell on the soap opera “Santa Barbara.” Due to her role Jenny Curran
in “Forrest Gump,” she received a Golden Globe Award nomination for best
supporting actress. Wright Penn recently starred in movies as “Beowulf” and “What
Just Happened.”
